ConsultAssistent is celebrating its 10th anniversary!

Yesterday, we celebrated this together with the team, our partners, and the children at a fun BBQ. It was a wonderful moment to reflect on everything we’ve built together over the past few years, the great collaborations, and the exciting steps that still lie ahead. The idea behind ConsultAssistent originated over twenty years ago with ENT specialist Henk Blom, based on the conviction that good care begins with an understanding of the patient’s situation. When information about symptoms, context, and medical history is available in a complete and structured format, healthcare providers can work more effectively and make better-informed decisions. That same information makes it possible to track and compare treatment outcomes and to learn from previous cases. Together with Martijn Buitenhuis, Patrick Nelissen, and Bert Mooij, Outcome Measurement B.V. was founded on May 6, 2016, and under its original name “Sherlock” (Watson’s partner), the team began developing a system to create smart automated medical history modules for specialized medical care.
Ten years of ConsultAssistent means ten years of:
- Thinking about how to make healthcare smarter, through trial and error
- Experience in optimizing user-friendliness
- Working to Achieve a High Response Rate by Asking Only Relevant Questions
- Structured Data for Scientific Research
- Learning from every patient how to make care even better for the next one
The coming period will focus on further scaling up, the continued development of our explainable AI decision support system, MDR certification, and the expansion of our triage facilities to help optimize patient intake and monitoring, thereby helping to keep healthcare affordable and accessible.
Thank you to everyone who is part of this journey. Here’s to many more wonderful years together!
