Meet our new Medical Head: Domino Determann!

We are delighted to announce that Domino Determann has joined ConsultAssistent as Medical Head.

Who are you?
My name is Domino Determann and I have a background as a physician (NP) and epidemiologist. I have a broad interest in the combination of medical content, science, and its practical application in healthcare. I have gained extensive experience in developing and implementing tools/products (treatment decision aids and outcome sets) based on scientific literature and guidelines. What I enjoy most about this is the co-creation: collaborating with medical specialists, patients, researchers, and other stakeholders to develop a concrete product that can make a difference in daily healthcare practice.

What will you be focusing on at ConsultAssistent?
As Medical Head, I will mainly focus on developing and improving auto-anamnestic modules and outcome measurements. In addition, I will also be involved in developing decision support, among other things.

What appeals to you about the ConsultAssistent solution?
Because patients are better prepared in advance and healthcare providers can view the information earlier, there is more room in the consultation for meaningful discussion and shared decision-making. This is a theme I have been involved with for years, both in my work and through my volunteer work for Hoofdpijnnet (Headache Network).

What else?
ConsultAssistent helps reduce the administrative burden on healthcare providers. Smart digital support means less paperwork and more time for care. What's more, the data collected can be used for learning and improvement.

And finally: what is it like to be working in Rotterdam again?
It's great to be back in Rotterdam. The view of my old workplace at Erasmus MC, where I obtained my PhD in Medical Decision Sciences, makes it even more special. It's a familiar environment, but with a new and refreshing challenge.
