Early detection of PPPD using digital automated medical history and data-driven decision support from ConsultAssistent

We are proud that ConsultAssistent contributed to the publication on Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD) in Dutch ENT practice (published in NTvKNO). With our digital automated medical history tool, we played a key role in the data collection that formed the basis of this study.

PPPD is a condition characterized by persistent dizziness and imbalance. This diagnosis is relatively new and not yet widely recognized, which means that PPPD is often missed or diagnosed late. As a result, patients do not always receive the appropriate treatment.

That is precisely why effective diagnosis begins with a structured and comprehensive review of the patient’s medical history. And that is exactly where ConsultAssistent’s strength lies: structured and relevant patient information is collected prior to the consultation.

If the patient’s symptoms are consistent with PPPD, ConsultAssistent generates a targeted alert in the EHR report for the healthcare provider. This actively alerts the ENT specialist to a possible diagnosis.

➡️ Support in identifying complex conditions such as PPPD
➡️ Reduced risk of missed or delayed diagnoses
➡️ A better foundation for targeted treatment

It’s great to see how publications like this highlight the importance of smart, data-driven decision support in the doctor’s office. Want to read the full article? You’ll find the link in the comments.
