Did you know ... most patients are very selective in the complaints they fill out in an autoanamnesis?

We regularly hear from physicians (who do not yet use ConsultAssistent) the concern, "If patients are allowed to check their own complaints in an autoanamnesis, won't they check everything...?"
We dove into this and the ConsultAssistent data tell a different story: we analyzed over 15,000 auto-anamneses from patients in ENT clinics. What turns out?
👉83% of patients select 3 or fewer chief complaints, many of which are interrelated.
All the while, they can choose from as many as 34 different ENT-related complaints in preparation for their consultation.
So no, patients really don't fill out "everything." They are goal-oriented. And that makes the autoanamnesis not only convenient for the patient, but also clear and valuable for the physician.
The fear of an overload of complaints is unnecessary. Most patients know very well what they want to discuss. Where a patient does select multiple chief complaints, the physician can discuss with the patient whether they are relevant and where to prioritize.
