Meet our new Medical Director: Domino Determann
We are very excited to announce that Domino Determann has joined ConsultAssistent as Medical Head.
Who are you?
My name is Domino Determann, and I have a background as a physician (NP) and epidemiologist. I have a broad interest in the intersection of medical content, science, and their practical application in healthcare. I have gained extensive experience in developing and refining tools and products—such as treatment decision aids and outcome sets—based on scientific literature and guidelines. What I enjoy most about this is the co-creation process: collaborating on content with medical specialists, patients, researchers, and other stakeholders to develop a concrete product that can make a difference in everyday healthcare practice.
What will you be focusing on most at ConsultAssistent?
As Medical Head, I will focus primarily on developing and improving self-reported medical history modules and outcome measures. In addition, I will also be involved in the development of decision support tools, among other things.
What appeals to you about ConsultAssistent's solutions?
Because patients prepare better in advance and healthcare providers have access to the information sooner, there is more time during the consultation for meaningful discussion and shared decision-making. This is an issue I’ve been involved with for years—not only through my work but also through my volunteer work for Hoofdpijnnet.
And what else?
ConsultAssistent helps reduce the administrative burden on healthcare providers. Smart digital support means less paperwork and more time for patient care. In addition, the collected data can be used to learn and improve.
And finally: What's it like to be working in Rotterdam again?
It’s really nice to be back in Rotterdam. The view of my old workplace at Erasmus MC, where I earned my Ph.D. in Medical Decision Science, is especially special. It’s a familiar environment, but with a new and exciting challenge. Welcome to ConsultAssistent, Domino!
