Meet our Lead Developer

Every day our dedicated developers are committed to product optimization. In this way, they also dedicate themselves daily to improving healthcare. Take for example Wouter, our experienced lead developer at ConsultAssistent. With his years of valuable expertise, he contributes to achieving our mission.

Who are you?
Wouter Schaart.

When did you start working at ConsultAssistent?
I started in August 2018, at that time it was just the two of us in an office in The Hague. But growth quickly set in after that.

What does being a lead developer entail?
Lead developer traditionally involves providing technical guidance and mentorship to your team. Within ConsultAssistent, it also means that you are deployed for technical contact with clients, keeping an overview of ongoing projects and anticipating future bottlenecks. Because you work with highly intelligent people, it also mainly involves listening well and finding technically sensible consensus. In addition, you are the voice of management in your team and represent your team to management.

How do you contribute to healthcare?
The best compliment we've ever received is that doctors indicated that, since working with ConsultAssistent, they have breaks again. Superficially, with our questionnaires, we ensure that the doctor gets the right information about the patient in a short time. But deeper, we ensure that time is freed up between doctor and patient that can be used to inform and guide the patient. In this way, the treatment process becomes more pleasant for both patient and physician.

Why ConsultAssistent?
ConsultAssistent is my club because it is both small so I know everyone. But yet can have a big impact on healthcare. I find very diverse challenges every day, both in the code, in the architecture of our program, and in the interaction with all external parties.
