Meet our new CTO: Job Kelderman

Job Kelderman has joined our team as CTO and is happy to introduce himself to you:
How did you get started at ConsultAssistant?
I started here in March 2025 as a freelance Agile Coach. Together with the team, we worked hard on the development process. The team was eager to help everyone, which sometimes led to chaos and turmoil: there was not always a clear focus and no peace to complete tasks neatly. We focused on prioritization, focus, splitting work, communication and collaboration (pair programming). We now deliver real value in a calm way and also have the peace of mind to share knowledge.𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 is our motto!
How did you go from freelance Agile Coach to CTO?
Frankly, in 2024, after 25 years, I had just quit as CTO at my own company. If you had told me then that a year later I would be CTO somewhere else, I wouldn't have believed you. But: From day one, ConsultAssistent felt like a warm bath. The team is enthusiastic, committed and open to experimentation to continuously improve. The product serves a social interest and I am sure we can significantly improve healthcare. After the first few months of coaching, I was eager to stay on to make the company more successful. Bert Mooij (CEO) then suggested we explore together how I could stay more sustainably involved with ConsultAssistent. As an agile coach, there was not enough work to provide full-time value. My years of experience as CTO then came up. In that role, in addition to the development process, I can add much more value. An ideal extension to my existing work at ConsultAssistent. Now I am fully responsible for the development team, the technical side of the product and the processes involved in growing both.
How do you see the future?
Because I have great confidence in the product and the team, I stepped in as a shareholder. ConsultAssistent is growing. We have challenging projects ahead that can add a lot of value for our customers and contribute to the improvement of healthcare. This means we still have professionalization steps to take. We are working on various certifications, the development of AI and Machine Learning applications and links to other products such as EMRs. In addition, we are expanding the team. In other words, the future looks bright!
