This year, the Rotterdam CI Center (Erasmus MC) is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The celebration will be held with fellow hearing care professionals and cochlear implant users.

On April 10, 2026,Tara LamersandBert Mooijattended the scientific symposium for Dutch and Flemish professionals as sponsors on behalf ofConsultAssistent. The symposium took place atBlueCity (010)—the former Tropicana Swimming Pool in Rotterdam.

ConsultAssistent has been active in ENT and hearing care for many years with itsdigital auto-anamnesis , and follow-up software. Remote hearing screening is also becoming increasingly common, allowing patients to be assessed remotely through a combination of an audiogram, otoscopic images, and a validated questionnaire.

Our founder,Henk Blom, was one of the participants in the panel discussion on innovation in hearing care—an area to which we at ConsultAssistent contribute every day.

Impressive real-life examples were shared from Belgium and the Netherlands. It’s amazing how cochlear implants give people their lives back by restoring their hearing from 100% loss to 0%, but also how this creates certain barriers—for example, when dating and in everyday work, where you learn to listen incredibly well, according toFrances Gallimore.
